Making Time for Friends

So this morning I was so running behind. When Tyler wakes up he had his arms full with all his "friends" (e.g. stuffed animals). I asked if they were joining him for breakfast, hoping he would say no. "Of course" he said. So, trying to be a good mom....we went downstairs with all his friends and I served them all up a bowl of cereal. Too cute not to share, esp. when Tyler told baby peep "eat up, your breakfast will get mushy."

Circle of Friends

Typical Ty. When he is playing, he puts all his toys in a circle around him. Here he is surrounded by his toys while watching a movie. Too cute!

BFF, for now at least

Rooster Hair

Okay, so I had to share this thought. I remember my mom putting my hair in a pony tail on the top of my head and she used a bread rubber band, by the end of the day, my head hurt and itched. I remember pulling it out and my hair never moved. Poor Cassie...I reverted to being Michelle.

Happy Girl

Where did the last fruit loop go? Cassie is caught putting another fruit loop in her mouth. Those big eyes tell me that she is guilty?!

Okay mom, how long can I hold up this cheesy smile?

Okay, one quick melt-your-heart smile because, well, I love you guys too!

Did I luck out or what?

I think that I can say it now...without jinxing it...Cassie is the best baby ever! Started sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old. Only cried if she was hungry and she'll turn 11 months old next week and I have only had one night when she didnt want to sleep and that was because she cut four teeth.

Although I think my hubby is still in shock that we have a lil' girl in our household, since he was FOR SURE it was another boy...we love Cassie and just can't imagine not having our precious, sweet lil' baby girl in our lives.

She is always full of smiles...even when her mom takes a zillion pics of her (how can I not?). She makes us smile and we are so glad that she is in our lives.

LJT'ers for LIFE

Oh the good ol' days. My fellow Livestock Judging Teammates...back in 1999. These girls are my summer sisters and even though I dont talk to them as much as I would like...they always will have a VERY close and special place in my heart.
So, here is saluting 10 years of friendship. How lucky are we to have such a lifelong friendship? Get your calendars out girls...we need to plan a trip for 2008!
BFF...FOREVER, you know?!

The best job in the world

Although I do love my job at Swiss Valley Farms, and perhaps this is the best fit for me in my professional world, I would have to say that the best job in the world, hands down is being a mom. AND, although this mother's day wasn't the pamerping some might get, it was another kind reminder that God has blessed me so much. Lil' things go a long way! Since we had a long day on Saturday in southern Illinois, the kids & I got to sleep in until 8:00 a.m. How refreshing! Then, Tyler helped me make scrambled eggs and toast. Watching his deterimination and focus while cracking the eggs was simply priceless. So when I had to pick through a few broken shell pieces while eating my eggs, I just smiled and graciously said thank you to Tyler for helping make me breakfast.
I think I've became more patient in my "old age". In between changing constant dirty diapers or cleaning up spilled milk or dealing with a three-year old tantrum, I find myself taking deep breathes. AND, when the kids are behaving and not so demanding (bath time, play time, etc.) I'm in full amazement at how blessed I am. How can such little people have so much love? When they tell you I love you or thank you, its not because the feel like they have to...its becaues they mean it. AND, that feeling on mother's day or any day of the year, is priceless. So here is saluting the best job in the world...for any and every mother out there! How blessed are we?

Tyler is THREE

Instead of one big birthday bash for Tyler, this year, we celebrated over a week span. Indeed he is growin' up. Need more proof? He'll tell you! "I'm three years old today" is what he told me this morning, four days after his birthday. Cute. Of course! Need more proof? His scream when we left the play area at Burger King? Yes, he is just three!
I think for moms, on your children's birthday, its a day of awakening. For me, it is. Tyler is 3 and it seems like yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital. I looked through baby books and it seems like it was forever ago that he sat in the bouncy seat or drank out of a bottle. With each birthday, its a friendly reminder of how precious life is.

Gettin' the groove

Copy cat, I know. How could I not? Sweet Elizabeth gave me the idea from her very own and what a perfect way to get back into talkin' about my life. Venting! This will allow me to focus on the good...more so, than the not-so-good. Which should be easy since most of my life is VERY GOOD!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Ahh, Tyler will be 3 this Saturday. My lil' cinco de mayo baby is now 3! And, after I looked back through his baby book and pictures from last year...it makes me realize, he is indeed, growin' up! This year Tyler has made HUGE strides, esp. with his vocabulary. He was barely saying a few words a year ago and now he is my chatterbox and tells me full sentences like "when dad comes home, I get my bike out of the garage." or "my baby sissy loves to eat ice-cream". How can I not tear up when his vocab is improving in strides?
So hear is saluting Mr. Tyler James Bohnert to the big world of a three year old. We love you with all that we have, plus some!
