Busy-Bee

Not a dull moment in this Bohnert household, esp. now that the youngest family member has got the walking figured out! She isn't running by any means, but definitely moves faster than I care! Her love for life is contagious and just reminds me how fun this stage (15 months) is! She definitely is a busy bee! Don't let the relax look fool you!
Already wanting to make long distance calls!
One of her favorite things to do is to look at book (totally fine by this mama!)
Especially when the book talks about Jersey cows!...And back to climbing stairs!

These boots are made for walking

LOVE, HMD (handy-me downs!), esp. these. These lil' roper boots were Tyler's and now Cassie is nearly big enough to wear 'em. Ye-haw!

Fun Nite

Bouncing castle, lil' tykes play areas and a whole lotta apples make for a fun family nite at Tyler's preschool. The kids have been learning about apples since their tour at the apple orchard! The many of first, I'm sure, family fun night, that is. Shouldn't every night be a family fun night? Well, this one forced dad to call it an early evening so we could spend time at the elementary school's courtyard for the fine evening entertainment.
Pin the apple on the tree with Miss. Carley. No peeking Tyler!

Peel an apple the quick way! Tyler thought this was WAY COOL!
A lil' pick-up game of b-ball in the court yard.
Nothing beats the bouncing castle though!!

Clockin' OUT

Like father, like son.
Tyler lives for the weekends when he can go to work with his dad. The only exception is he gets to go home for a two hour nap (moms request). Other than that, he clocks in and clocks out when dad does. On Saturday night, he could barely keep his eyes open to finish his dinner because he was so tired. When I tucked him in and told him goodnight, he managed to say "I go to work with dad again tomorrow. We drive big tractor and plant rye." Of course, this all makes his dad smile! What more could he ask for from his three-year-old son?

NOTE: A big highlight for Tyler is to pack the cooler with snacks for the long tractor rides.

Field Trip to an apple orchard

First field trip of the year for Tyler with his preschool class. The brisk cool Canadian air and sunny clear skies welcomed the group for a fabulous morning to a local apple orchard. The trip consisted of a hay ride tour through the orchard, feeding the animals and enjoying a delicious healthy apple for a mid morning snack. Thanks farmer Dan, the apple man! We had a wonderful time!

Stone's Apple Orchard welcome the preschoolers in fine fashion!

First off a wagon ride...kids were asked what they saw, most answered with "I see apples." Not Tyler, he spotted off everything he saw from roundbales, to bean fields to a hay mower! I guess they know who the farm kid is, don't they.

Apples after being washed!

Tyler & his friend Maya check out the chickens!

Oh Happy Girl

Cassie has a million different expressions. When the girls at day-care describe Cassie Ann, they say it too. She has so many looks. I thought these pictures capture this point. Tyler looks about the same in every picture...yet Cassie has a different look for each one.
Cheese!
Really Cheese! (She is not crying)
I am a happy girl!

And he's off...already?

Tyler started preschool last week. I didn't realize how hard it would be on MOM! Truthfully, it's really hard to watch 'em grow up. Tyler did great. The best part for him, hands down, was riding the school bus. And...like his mama when she was little, he gets to be the first one picked up in the morning and the last stop in the afternoon. "I get to ride it a long time," he happily reports.

Tyler & corn chopping

Tyler's highlight at the farm is chopping corn. I shouldn't be surprised. Like father, like son. He would wake up when the sun wasn't even up and say "I go with dad to chop corn" and the boys would put their chore clothes on, pack some snacks & drinks and head off to the farm. All the Bohnert men sported smiles during corn chopping season. Maybe it's because the yields are awesome...but I have to think the youngest Bohnert man tagging along was another reason everyone was smiling!

AND...no hurt feelings, Ty rode with everyone. He took turns. AND...if he had a choice...run the chopper with dad or haul wagons with uncle Eric, well...sorry, dad...but Eric and the wagons are MUCH COOLER.

Miss. Helper

No worries that Cassie didn't get to join in on the corn chopping. I remind 'em all that next year she will probably want to ride with the guys. For now, Miss. Cassie Ann is content being with the cows...and this outfit cracks me up. Reminds me of my beautiful, hippie sister Mary in her younger days.

Cassie n' pigs

Surprisingly she kept them in all day.
