The graduate

Tyler graduated pre-school last week and of course, this Jersey mama cried! I didn't plan on it, but seeing him in his cap and gown, brought on tears. All grown-up! Its like a quick reminder of how fast they grow up--or at least for Tyler, it was way too quick for my liking.

I am so proud (if you didn't know that) of Tyler and all of his accomplishments. He is SO READY for kindergarten. He'll tell you that, so will his teachers, but both me & his father will contest to that too. His maturity, language, confidence has bloomed this past year--in spades. He is smart, creative, intuitive and ready to learn at the next level. It makes my heart melt!

So, hear his saluting you, Tyler Bohnert, my pre-school graduate.

BTW, kindergarten can't come quick enough. Tyler wasn't thrilled about the whole graduation ceremony. I think this is a common problem for Ty! He will be the one to skip out of his high school graduation and already be on a plane destined for his summer fun! He definitely didn't like wearing the gown. "I am NOT a girl. I don't wear dresses." Considering his father laughed at this remark, its surprising he kept it on long enough to get his diploma!

Not smiling!
Proud of his diploma though!
The gown comes off...and he flashes a goofy smile! Better than the beat-me-up scotty look he sported during the ceremony.

cinco de mayo birthday boy

The third and final party for the birthday boy was at the farm on cinco de mayo. We celebrated with our hired help and Tyler loved that everyone sang happy birthday once again to him! We had planned to take the afternoon, as a family, and go somewhere to make the day special for Tyler. But the sun was out in full force, the temps near perfect and Scott had so much to do at the farm and Tyler wanted to stay and help, so the whole Jersey family stayed and helped!

I have to laugh that we celebrated doing what we do best--spend time at the farm. We all helped haul manure and the kids got to help the hired help (Juan & Logan) help feed calves. Tyler told me he had the best birthday EVER! Again, I love that he is so simple!
Happy Birthday Tyler!

Party Number Two

Tyler's series of parties continued the following day at pre-school! Since the school was going to do a festive cinco de mayo party, we figured we'd bring treats in the day before. Tyler got to share with his school friends, they sang happy birthday and we played a couple of games. Made me thankful that I could be there for that!

Tyler wanted to show me how he uses this place mat with a dry erase marker to work on his lower case letters! I, of course, was impressed!
...and later the Jersey kids sported their goggles again, which just makes me smile!

HIGH FIVE

Tyler celebrated his big FIFTH, golden, cinco de mayo birthday with a three day streak of parties! With mother nature not sure what she wants to do here in the upper Midwest...figured we should go with multiple parties vs. one big one--that could of been forced in doors to do all this rain we continue to get. Thankfully, the weather cooperated all three days!

How is it that my baby boy is no longer a baby? He has grown up so much this last year, so much that it makes me extremely proud! As a mom you long for your child to have good manners, some independence and maturity, but when it comes in full force, like Tyler has shown this year, its made this Jersey mama a lil' teary eyed!

We celebrated the first party with the requested NEMO party! I love that Tyler is simple. The only gift he requested was a actual fish and thankfully through his aunt Tara & uncle Eric, he received that. Of course the birthday boy received many more gifts than the fish & tank!

Happy birthday Tyler James! We love you so very much.
xoxo!
