Road Trip

A 7 1/2 hour road trip to my ol' stomping grounds, Columbus, Ohio. I know, one might think I'm NUTS, absolutely insane for traveling so far with the two Jersey kids (and Jersey man!) in one vehicle, esp. with fuel prices so high. We headed east curiosity of a business trip for Scott and since its spring break for Ty and I have tons of PTO time, we figured we'd take advantage of the free road trip.

Don't worry, I didn't throw anyone out the window, nor leave 'em to hitch hike home. Not saying it was complete smooth sailing, there are plenty of stories that we will reminisce about for time to come--both good & not-so-good.

AND...it was good to be in the Buckeye state. We told Tyler we were going to Ohio, so he kept asking "are we there yet" and where is "oHIo". Cute, sure! Well, we crossed the state line, we said "Welcome to Ohio Tyler" and he looked out the window with his big brown eyes, said "this looks like home!"

Awe, I smiled seeing ol' friends and colleagues. After all, this state changed my life, in folds. It included my first real job, American Jersey Cattle Association and made many memories and it was how I would eventually meet my Jersey hubby. :)

Heading back home, in the few moments of silence, I thought about how blessed I am. I have some really amazing friends. I was reminded that geography isn't a barrier to true friendship. It was real nice to show my Jersey kids my ol' stomping ground....and we'll make our way back. It won't take "having two kids" to get back. I promise girls!

Its not like we have the A/C on. Tyler insisted to wear his stocking cap
(old habit, I'm guessing due to our never-ending winter).
BIG SMILES:
Tyler embraces Cade Ziegler, 4 1/2. The two instantly bonded with there love for tractors and drive for life!
Back at the hotel, Tyler and Cassie enjoy cable (cartoon network!)
Um, nice look Cassie. LOL!
The kids pose real quick in front of the American Jersey Cattle Association
headquarters in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

This picture just makes my heart swell. Genuine smiles.
Like dad, like daughter. I love it. I love them!
