Last night, just one day shy of Cassie turning 14 months, she took her first steps!!! AND...she is so proud of herself. I kept making her walk on her own...and she did just great. So, now my 'easy-life' is officially over!

R.I.P.
Sad news to report this evening. Tyler's pup-dog, Scoobie died. At such a young age, he loved to chase trucks and tried biting the tires. A sales man stopped this evening and on his way out, ran over the dog. The boys are hangin' there heads a lil' low tonight and probably will for awhile. Even though we only enjoyed Scoobie for 2 months, he brought plenty of smiles to Tyler's face. He was his best friend. When he went to the farm, he would play with him for hours on end. Kicking a ball around, throwing a stick or just plain wrestling. Tyler loved Scoobie. I think we all did. Even grandma has a special place in her heart for him...at least some memories...how the pup destroyed her goose decoration's outfit or left her treats in the yard to clean up.
AND...it was so hard to even to start to explain to your son that his dog died and he wouldn't see him anymore. Prepares you for the first of many hard truths that children have to learn. Life isn't fair and that all things come to an end. For Scoobie Doo, it was way too early. Tyler cried...and mom & dad did too. Its hard seeing a loved one hurt. Awe, Scoobie Doo, we love you and hope that you are resting in peace in doggie heaven.

Lookin' up to her big bro
The Bohnert household isn't quite the same since Cassie turned 1. I think thats when it all changed? Cassie adores Tyler...and whatever he is doin', well she wants to do it too. Cute, I think so, but if you ask the three-year-old in the house, NOT SO CUTE. AND...despite the fact she is a girl....tractors seem fun to play with and if you give her a choice...doll or tractor, well, she'll take the tractor, just like Ty.

Summertime...and county fairs
We just love 'em...the county fairs. How could you not? Corn dogs, livestock shows, carni rides. Well, its not my absolute favorite...but if you ask the three-year-old in the house...it doesn't get much better than the COUNTY FAIR! The whole way home he recited "I go on motorcycle rides, race cars, boats, horses, alligator, etc." The excitement in his voice and smile on his face was worth it!!! (Cassie was content just watching. Next year, I'm sure it'll be a different story!!!)

How sweet
After a long day...sometimes more than not, I'm wore out. Its the constant battling with the kids to turn our listening ears on, picking up toys and making good choices. Sometimes I'm reminding my hubby of this too. :)
Before I turn into bed...I take a quick peak into the two kids room to make sure all is well...and its moments like this, that make my heart swell and assures me all is well and I'm a very blessed. I just love the spread eagle look. So peaceful.
Oh...this is where my lil' adorable girl fell asleep. She must of been real tuckered out. Looks painful! Forget how flexible we are at such a young age. (She fell asleep on the kitchen floor).
